A new educational project for Girona
3 September, 2025
The School We Envision
A new and innovative educational project is being launched in Girona, looking toward the future and grounded in the successful track record of Les Alzines and Bell-lloc. This project is open to all families seeking academic excellence, a personalized, student-centered approach, and a Christian identity. All within a welcoming and close-knit environment, where each student and family receives personalized guidance and support.
Education from Early Childhood to Adulthood
A school designed for lifelong growth, from nursery (starting at 4 months) to Baccalaureate, offering a broad academic path that will also include vocational training at intermediate and advanced levels.
A Large Educational Space
Les Alzines and Bell-lloc bring together proven experience, educational innovation, and future projection through a comprehensive transformation of their facilities to create a unique educational project. The new project is expected to be completed in September 2030.
- The main campus will be located in the area currently occupied by Bell-lloc del Pla, where studies will be offered from Early Childhood Education through to the 2nd year of Baccalaureate. This space has more than 70,000 m² of grounds and 12,000 m² of facilities, with very large areas, ideal for learning, play, and sports. An education in a natural environment, respectful of the environment and also designed for family life and leisure activities.
- There will also be another campus in the space currently occupied by Les Alzines, where Vocational Training studies will begin and Early Childhood Education (ages 0–5) will be maintained, offering this stage at both campuses.
Comprehensive and Progressive Transformation
Both schools have designed an ambitious project to improve their facilities, making it a unique educational complex in the region. The plan includes the full renovation of the indoor and outdoor spaces of Bell-lloc del Pla, aimed at expanding capacity, modernizing, and creating new multidisciplinary learning areas that are sustainable and versatile. The renovation will generate interconnected spaces adapted to the educational needs of each stage.
The project includes the construction of over 5,000 m² of new facilities:
- Expansion of the Infant Education building and playgrounds (ages 0–5)
- New classroom building
- New artificial turf football field
- New vocational training classrooms for intermediate and higher-level studies
- Reorganization and improvement of access areas
- New parking spaces for families
- At Les Alzines site, new vocational training classrooms will be built to host intermediate and advanced levels.
EDUCATIONAL PROPOSAL
Academic Excellence
Our goal is for every student to fully develop their talents, with strong study habits, language proficiency, critical thinking, and a solid foundation in mathematics and science. We aim for a broad cultural education rooted in Christian humanism, promoting the arts and creativity. Pedagogical innovation is a central focus, using active methodologies and offering personalized support to help each student reach their learning goals.
With an International Mindset
We implement the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs in Early Years and Primary (PYP) and in Secondary (MYP), already offered in the Baccalaureate stage. We maintain our Erasmus+ projects with European exchanges and offer the Dual Diploma in partnership with the U.S. education system.
Languages: A Gateway to the World
With excellent current results, we continue to promote top-level English language training. Students are prepared at school to obtain Cambridge certifications:
- PET (B1) at the end of Primary
- First Certificate (B2) at the end of Secondary
- Advanced (C1) during Baccalaureate
We also offer French and German, with A2 certification by the end of 2nd year of Secondary, and B1 by 4th year.
Technology with Purpose
Technology is a tool, not an end. We prioritize paper textbooks in Primary and promote responsible and limited device use in Secondary. The school is a mobile-free space during class hours. Robotics and programming are also part of the curriculum to rigorously prepare students for current and future realities.
Emotional and Character Education
Our main goal is to help students grow into good people through personalized education. Emotional and character development is integrated into daily life, supported by a committed educational community and personalized attention through individual mentoring sessions and family tutoring, along with family-wide training activities.
Single-Sex Education in a Shared Environment
The school will continue offering single-sex education within a shared environment, with equal resources and opportunities for all. Boys and girls will learn in large, modernized facilities. Uniting the two schools in a single location will simplify family logistics and optimize resources to deliver high-quality education at the best possible cost.
Commitment to Families
This new project is born with the intent of serving the community. We are committed to keeping education as accessible as possible, with lower fees than typical private schools and a scholarship program for families in need.
With a Christian Identity, Open and Inclusive
The school promotes Christian values as the foundation of an education that addresses every aspect of the person. The school will maintain its connection with Opus Dei, with a chaplaincy available to students, families, and staff who wish to use it. At the same time, it is an inclusive project that respects all beliefs, encouraging coexistence and dialogue. We promote solidarity projects to foster social responsibility and a global outlook, both locally and internationally.
Extracurriculars for the Whole Family
A rich and varied offering of sports, cultural, and educational activities for children, teenagers, and adults alike. An opportunity to grow together inside and outside the classroom. Accredited music school by Trinity College. School and competitive teams in football, basketball, and handball.
