The Nap (P3)

6 February, 2020

Sleeping is a necessary activity because with it helps us recover from fatigue and regain physical and psychological balance. Sleep plays a fundamental role in the development and well-being of children. It contributes to an increase in attention, memory and consolidation of what has been learned.

At Bell-lloc Infantil, we promote napping until students are in P3. This year, for example, the students can nap after eating but many of them no longer need to and can go to the playground instead. Sleep is a biological necessity as well as a personal and social habit. It is essential in daily routines in the same way meal times, bath times and outdoor activities are. Children gradually develop self-regulation and autonomy as they learn to sleep alone. Please ask our teachers for more information on promoting this habit at home.
